I had a great Christmas, lots of great food and visits with family. Lots of neat gifts. One of my gifts from my daughter Nikole and her fiance Brad was a French baguette pan. It is kind of a funny looking pan made of curved metal with tiny, closely spaced holes. It is used to make two loaves of French bread. Today, I had a chance to make my first loaves and I was very happy with how they turned out. I wrote about it including the recipe here.
Here is a picture of the pan:
And a couple pictures of the bread.
Several of my gifts were kitchen or food related. I love kitchen gadgets and tools.
It came out really well. My spouse has the same pan! Happy New Year. xoox
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was pleased with how it turned out too. It will be fun to use. Happy New Year wishes to you too.

Ok, Lorri, you can tell that I am not a cook, because I have never seen a pan like that! The bread looks amazing though. I have always wanted to make my own bread, but it looks like something that might be a bit beyond me and my meager cooking skills!! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim. I am rather new to bread baking, just the last couple of years and then I don't do it very often. Do you have a stand mixer with a bread hook? I let the mixer do the kneading and it makes it a lot easier. There is a link above to my post with the recipe and a few pictures. I bet you could do it. Happy New Year.
